Hello everybody, there's not much time left to JBIC and SEC, only 13 and 14 days left respectively. Whenever you are free, at least, take about 5 to 10 minutes, look through your scores, sing out your part, recall what Mr Lim, Miss Loh, your tutors or your seniors had taught you. Best, take about 20 minutes to an hour to practise your instrument.

The various ensemble groups that have not give me your conductor scores for competition, please do so by Saturday. Those ensemble groups who have no original scores, please tell me by tomorrow afternoon, 12 noon. Send me a text, indicating the title of the piece, composer, arranger and publisher. I will ask Miss Neo to help us to order the scores.

Tickets sales had been quite good recently. Keep up the good work! (: Please continue to help to sell more tickets. Because we are one of the bands that has the least number of tickets sold. So ya, please sell more tickets! Our target for this week is 80 at least. But now we only sold about 50. We have a long way to go. Let's work hard together. (:

Hello Everyone!

We will be performing Pirates of the Caribean: At World's End and Light of Dawn during our school's GRC Banquet, the tickets cost $50, it is very expensive because our school is rising fund for the needys.
This week we have practices and rehersals almost everyday.
The seniors will be playing ensemble too, except for woodwind ensemble, for the arriving guests. We have other performing arts people performing tooo.

Dear Juniors, by Saturday, please have your Full Band Uniform ready, be sure to have white long sleeves shirt, &
for girls; Clock shoe, white 1"A cut" skirt, and skin tone stockings.
for boys; Men's marching shoe, white long pants.
If you all have no idea what kind to buy or anything, please bring $50 tomorrow, which is Thursday. Or you can also ask your seniors for references.

This Friday there will be a band performance at Esplanade, 7.30pm, the piece will have eupho solo. and to me, it would be very nice one, so please do go! It is free! :) I recommend!

Our juniors are going to play Pirates of the Caribbean The World End and Light of Dawn. not bad right? :).

Seniors; please note. YOU should stop slacking and think ahead to the future, the Ensemble competetion is near, if you can play every single thing correctly i got nothing to say, but if you can't play most of the thing and still slack? Don't be shameless, its better if you start kicking your butts up and start practicing alot.

Juniors; UR CONCERT IS SOOOOO NEAR! you better practice more of ur pieces!!! YOU ALL ALSO DUN FOLLOW UR SENIORS! DUN SLACK! :p. cos Junior see, Junior do. like monkey see, monkey do. You all know you're not monkeys right?? so don't be. Don't learn bad things about ur seniors ok. after ur seniors graduate your turn alr! Be nice to ur seniors, they are not for you to boss around, What happens if you have no senior? CHERISH THEM. :D

Do you feel like giving up sometimes? Well sometimes i really do.
But what makes us feel that way? There are good times,bad times and badder times. Why not embrace the bad and the badder times and the same time cherish what you have during the good times?

Band is not running too well lately... But EVERYONE who are in BAND,are all in this together,whether are you a sec ONE,two or three.Have you really tried and teach your juniors,seniors? Giving your best and treat them like your siblings?

Juniors,are your seniors teaching but you are just not listening or lazy? You can always find me if you need any form of help!!! :)

Sorry for not posting recently. POP has passed, Today is the trip to Singapore General Hospital. We're gonna play music to the unfortuanated people there who got Cancer. We hope to cheer them up! :)
And on Singapore's National Day, we're gonna play music to our school too! We're gonna play "Tales of the Sea" and "Singapore Rhapsody" !

To Juniors: Please keep moving on, do not play halfway and stop! Singapore Rhapsody is gonna be hard for you, please do volunteer to play along with us and play well and also the seniors will help you! Do remember most of your Major Scales. Do not slack.

Do you all know what is the meaning of senior ? , Do you know what seniors need to do ? .
Even though its exam break , must come to teach your juniors and maybe play abit of ur own instrument too . If not you lose your embrocer** , you die not my problem .

Then do you know what is the meaning of TEACH ? not sit there act big , chat with your junior and clap clap clap . You have to take out a metronum and point out their mistakes , and teach them the right ways . Dont anyhow anyhow .

Being Seniors have to be strick to themselves and to their juniors too , if not your juniors won't listen and follow , and they will become naughty and bad .

Hey band...here's the things to bring list in case some of you does not have it or lost it.

-Sleeping bag
-Toiletries(Towel,toothpaste,toothbrush,toilet paper,comb,gel,perfume,shower cap ETC ETC ETC...)
-Enough undergarments(Min 3?)
-Slippers
-Home clothing for sleeping purposes
-Band tee shirt and P.E shorts---> for day 3, filming day
-Two sets of P.E attire with shorts/long pants or BLACK Bermudas. No FBTs allowed unless you want wear nothing
-Mug,writing materials and a notebook
-Bottle(water) Can be less or more than 1.5L
-Torch(light)
-Watch,not a clock(GL compulsory)
-Jacket/sweat shirt
-Hairclips/pin(inclusive of gentlemen with longer fringe)
-Personal medications(panadol,strepsils,eye mo,ETC,ETC)

*Note to all

*There would be no toys,either soft or hard allowed
*Inflatable Pillows are accepted only
*Electronic devices are banned...
*Unnecessary items will be confiscated. Example,10 sets of underwear...confiscate 5,6,7 like that

Hey band...

Here's a little insight for the SYF choice piece...overheard by msloh,it's call Winds Of Power by Nigel Hess. She said that this song is bloody difficult!! I still can't find any "free" website that has this song,so ya... but Good luck though everyone ^^
The set piece has been printed out already and we might get a chance to sight read both the Singapore flyer and memories of friendship tomorrow. AFTER FESTAL SCENCES
Tomorrow is the last band practice before the exchange...brush up your individual parts and be ready before mrlim comes. Also be on time tomorrow,7.35 is the falling in time,not even 7.36 hor!!
Also also remember to bring your $$ tomorrow for the band fund...punishment WOULD BE GIVEN for those who failed to abide. Have a bless day ahead and have a good night :)

Update...this Thursday there would be NO band practice as all staffs would go for a retreat.
I know that there would be people crying for joy,but is it really that great having a practice LESS??

As a member,as a section leader,or maybe just some guys looking in to the computer updating the band blog. Do YOU have what it takes...

Members,do you really practice the correct stuff with the metronome? Keeping in touch with it everyday?Really doubted some of you...

Section leaders,are you setting up a very good example for your section mates?Have you been checking up on individual members of yours? Showing your care and concern,not just scolding and reprimanding? The fact is if you are not practicing,then the juniors would say why would i bother? My section leader is no much better, he/she slacks off every now and then...

Departments,especially the juniors.You might say that some stuffs are just none of your business,i can let the sec two's three's handed it anyway...but have you been doing at least a little single speck of thing in the department? I can see that the library department are good, QM department sec one's are doing...errmm what??? Web manager...or should i say SEAN WONG,WHERE ARE YOU!!! not a single post in the blog :( And for publicity,i have absolutely no idea of what are you doing nowadays...

Please have have in mind,ALL of you are important...no one is or will be left behind

We have improved in our playing standard,
But we also increased our prejudice againse each other.
We had gone all the way to clinch the Gold award,
But have problems keeping our cellphones in our pockets during rehearsals.

Today we make practicing easier for the average joe;
We abolished the troublesome book keeping system,
But have lesser people bringing home instruments.
We now open the band room everyday during examinations period,
But still have people ignoring the fact and says he has 'no time' and keep in touch.

Is this the band we're planning to develop?
Members today have games too little,
Care too little, Laugh too little.
Leaders communicate too little,
Bond too little, stagnant too much.
What's band without the drive and passion;
What's band without having fun with humans?

Hey. Anyone want to buy the SYF photos?

It looks something like this :

Price:
Super 6R [15 cm x 22 cm] = $ 12
Super 8R [20 cm x 30 cm] = $ 15
Super 12R [30 cm x 45 cm] = $ 60
Super 16R [40 cm x 60 cm] = $180

We need a minimum of 70% of the band to buy the photos.

If you want to purchase, please let Winsome know asap.
Winsome will get the money from you guys when it's needed.
